Announced at the end of April, the new Chuwi CoreBook X (2021) is finally available on the market: you can already buy it on the Hekka.com at the price of $478.99 by using Code: hekkaX (instead of $488.99) with shipping from HK warehouses.
As already anticipated by rumors, the updated version of the Chuwi CoreBook X is aesthetically identical to last year with an all-metal chassis thin (20.6 mm) and light (1.49Kg), but with some substantial changes in hardware. Instead of a dual-core Intel Core i5-7267U (Kaby Lake) processor, in fact, the new CoreBook X integrates a quad-core Intel Core i5-8259U (Coffee Lake) chip at 2.3GHz and up to 3.8GHz with Intel Iris Plus 655 graphics, which has shown overall performance superior to the Core i7-1065G7 (Ice Lake) in all major benchmarks, including GeekBench with +10%. This is essentially the same processor as the MacBook Pro from a few years ago.
The platform is complemented by 8GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM and 512GB (possibly expandable up to 1TB) of storage on a PCIe Gen.3 x2 SSD, with read speeds of up to 1600MB/s that will be able to ensure the notebook is smooth and responsive in any operation.
From the previous model, however, the new Chuwi CoreBook X also inherits the 14-inch 2K (2160 x 1440 pixels) IPS display with 100% sRGB, 70% NTSC and 74% DCI-P3 color coverage. With ultra-slim bezels just 5 millimeters thick and a 3:2 aspect ratio, this screen will allow you to view more content (+18%) vertically, whether browsing a document or browsing the web, reducing page scrolling and improving efficiency and productivity at work.
The rest of the equipment includes a new full-size backlit keyboard and the usual connectivity with dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1, 3.5 mm audio jack, microSD card reader, a USB 3.0 port, a USB Type-C (data, power and video) and the power connector. The data sheet is closed by a 46.2Wh battery, which seems to promise up to 8 hours of battery life, and Windows 10 Home operating system.
