LaserPecker Unveils U1 Smart UV Laser Engraver at IFA 2026

LaserPecker, a global leader in desktop laser technology, today launched the U1 Smart UV Laser Engraver at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The new device is designed to bring high-precision engraving capabilities—traditionally reserved for industrial settings—into desktop environments, with a particular focus on transparent materials, curved surfaces, and brand retail customization scenarios.

Cold Processing Technology for Delicate Materials

At the heart of the LaserPecker U1 is a 355nm ultraviolet laser cold processing system, available in 5W and 10W configurations. Unlike conventional infrared or CO₂ lasers that rely on thermal energy to remove material—often leaving burn marks and heat-affected zones on glass, crystal, and heat-sensitive substrates—the UV laser operates with shorter wavelengths and higher photon energy, significantly reducing thermal impact. This enables fine engraving, internal carving, and cutting with minimal material distortion.

The U1 delivers engraving precision down to 0.007mm, positioning accuracy of 0.1mm, and a maximum engraving speed of 15,000mm/s. The 10W air-cooled version is geared toward high-efficiency applications such as glass cutting and deep engraving, while the 5W model is optimized for daily fine engraving, creative projects, and personalized gift customization—offering flexible options for creators, small studios, and merchants at different stages of operation.

Dual 16MP Cameras and Transparent Material Auto-Focus

One of the biggest challenges in transparent material processing is the device’s ability to accurately identify the working surface. Light refraction and penetration often complicate positioning, focusing, and test runs. The U1 addresses this with dual 16-megapixel high-definition cameras that achieve positioning accuracy within 0.1mm, combined with intelligent recognition and auto-focus capabilities specifically designed for transparent materials. This reduces manual setup time for crystal internal engraving and transparent glass etching, while enabling consistent, repeatable results across different operators.

3D Line-Scanning for Curved Surfaces

Standard flat-surface processing logic falls short when dealing with trophies, art pieces, curved glass, and irregular-shaped objects—where fixed focal lengths often result in defocusing, pattern distortion, or uneven engraving depths. The U1 comes standard with a binocular laser galvanometer 3D line-scanning module that scans complex workpiece surfaces, constructs contour maps, and dynamically adjusts focus along curved paths, improving engraving consistency on non-flat surfaces.

For crystal internal engraving, the U1 integrates 3D processing capabilities with visual positioning and auto-focus to streamline model importing, workpiece alignment, and parameter configuration—lowering the barrier for small-batch customization of curved trophies, glassware, and artistic ornaments.

Expanding the Desktop Laser Ecosystem

The desktop laser engraving market is evolving beyond simple power and speed specifications, with increasing emphasis on material compatibility, automation, and application diversity. Beyond conventional materials like wood and leather, glass, crystal, heat-sensitive plastics, and complex curved workpieces are emerging as new frontiers for creators, custom shops, and brand retail stores seeking differentiated customer experiences.

With the U1, LaserPecker is positioning itself at the intersection of precision engineering and retail innovation—exploring how on-site customization can transform brand-consumer interactions at physical store locations. The device effectively brings workflows that once required specialized equipment and skilled technicians into accessible desktop form factors, opening new possibilities for personalized retail, promotional products, and small-batch manufacturing.
