It would actually be one of the most exciting new models on the market: The manufacturer 360 Mobiles is known per se as a producer of smartphones, but now wants to establish itself on the vacuum robot market. This is done using the latest achievements and technologies that household robots can bring. This could already be seen on the 360 S6 review in this site. With the 360 S5, 360 Mobiles wants to build on the success of the first model and build (purely visually) very close to the Xiaomi models.
“Tell Tim, where does he come from? I googled and found nothing“. This has not really asked me anyone, but is a good introduction to explain how I came to the finding of the S5. At home, the 360 S6 makes its rounds every day. Due to a network change in my place of residence I had to reconfigure the WLAN, accordingly the robot flew with me from the WLAN and had to be refurbished by me. While connecting to the app, I made a discovery.
A brisk multilingual search engine survey led to no result, except for an AliExpress offer. In fact, it does not seem to be a fake, although browsing through China stores is not necessarily a rarity. But because the vacuum robot can be selected in the 360 Smart app ( Android , iOS ), the robot obviously exists. And looks like a mix of 360 S6 and Roborock S50.
Why does the S6 become the S5? Normally, one number follows the next in technology production. In addition, this makes the distinction to the Xiaomi models significantly more complicated, which also begin with “S5”. Since there is currently virtually no information on the model, it is difficult to say whether it is perhaps just a Chinese version of the S6. However, that would not explain why I can choose the vacuum robot in the app – and why the design is different. I’m typing on a new model here, but I’m not sure yet.
Why it is so difficult to say what the S5 is about is also because the specifications are the same as the S6. To go into it in detail now would not make much sense, because (until there is more information) would be just repetition. Accordingly, I put you the test article for the 360 S6 close. The laser distance sensor (LDS), with which the vacuum robot measures the premises and creates a map of the four walls , has moved from the back to the center on the top. Thus, the two controls were placed on top of each other, the functions have remained the same.
Draw in no-go zones on the created map, save the maps and also generally the app control is included. This allows the vacuum robot to start and stop from anywhere. Of course, one is also informed by push notification about the current status of the robot. You see: The differences to the S6 are not yet clear, but the top features are all back.
You see, it’s all a bit vague and unclear. For me, the joy of a new model from 360 Mobiles is great. I hope in Germany you can also benefit from the S5. In the next few weeks, there will certainly be new information (if the information wave rolls once) and we will keep you up to date.
