The Procolored F13X is an A3-size DTF printer designed for makers, small apparel shops, and print-on-demand businesses that want to bring custom transfer production in-house. It uses an Epson L1800 printhead with a CMYK+WW color configuration, producing full-color transfers that can be heat-pressed onto virtually any fabric — including dark cotton, polyester, and blends — without the weeding, layering, or cutting required by vinyl.

DTF printing works by printing a CMYK color layer followed by a white layer onto PET transfer film. Adhesive powder is then applied, the film is cured in an oven, and the finished transfer is applied to a garment with a heat press. This workflow makes DTF far more forgiving than screen printing for multicolor designs and far more versatile than dye-sublimation, which only works on white polyester.

The F13X sits in the middle of Procolored’s lineup — more capable than the entry-level F8, more affordable than the dual-head F13 Pro. It’s a roll-fed machine with a maximum print width of 13 inches and essentially unlimited length, thanks to continuous roll feeding. A built-in slide cutter lets you trim finished prints directly off the roll.

Procolored rates the F13 series for 200+ prints per week, making it suitable for small-batch production rather than high-volume industrial throughput. Independent reviews position it as an excellent fit for schools, makerspaces, sports teams, and startup apparel brands that need reliable, high-quality transfers without a six-figure equipment investment.

Summary

The Procolored F13X is a capable, well-priced DTF printer that delivers genuinely impressive print quality — provided you’re willing to invest the time in learning its quirks. The setup is fiddly, the software ecosystem is Windows-locked, and the 2025 malware incident is a legitimate red flag. But for the price, nothing else in the A3 DTF space offers this combination of print quality, white ink circulation, and built-in film cutting. If you’re a hands-on operator who wants to start producing custom apparel without a five-figure equipment investment, the F13X deserves a serious look.
