SKYZONE ATOMRC Dragonfly Hex Hexa-copter HD 3 Inch 4S FPV Racing Drone

The HEXplorer LR 4 from Flywoo and the Firefly Hex have put the hexa back in fashion. Here is the AtomRC Dragonfly Hex from Skyzone. It is a device for 3 inch propellers (3028) with 6 motors, brushless 1404 to 3000KV. Note that the arms are particularly and surprisingly long for 3 inch propellers! The flight controller is an AtomRC Exceed F405 Mini flashed with Betaflight, with 5 UART, a USB-C connector. It is associated with a 6 in 1 ESC of 15A. The device is equipped with a GPS placed at the rear.

It is provided by a Vista box and a Nebula Pro camera from Caddx, compatible with the Digital FPV System from DJI. Vista allows control with a DJI radio control. Skyzone also offers a version pre-equipped with a Crossfire Nano RX radio receiver from TBS. The weight of the device? 180 grams without the battery. Skyzone does not provide one and does not give a recommendation. It is likely that this device is intended to accommodate Lipo 4S of 850 to 1000 mAh, or Li-ion 4S of 3000 to 4000 mAh. The connector is an XT60.

The AtomRC Dragonfly Hex starts at $329.99 at Banggood, for availability on June 2, 2021. There is also a 5.8 GHz analog version, with a RunCam Split 3 Nano camera and a video transmitter capable of transmitting between 25 and 500 mW. It is offered from $235.99, still at Banggood. Its availability is scheduled for May 28, 2021.
