A lot of different smart watches from China have been reviewed, but we are not going to dwell on this – Smart Watch ZGPAX S99 Pro came to the review. Yes, today’s article will be devoted to two models of smart watches, which are quite different from each other. ZGPAX S99 Pro stand out in their price segment with a powerful “stuffing”, which is comparable to the specifications of some cheap smartphones. In addition, smart watches do not work on some kind of curtailed operating system, but on the familiar Android . Interesting, right? Let’s take a closer look at these wrist computers.

The younger model ZGPAX S99 Pro strongly resembles Gear S2 from the South Korean company Samsung. We have the same neat brick with a sloping top and bottom edge. There are three colors on the market: black, silver and gold. The front part is made of steel. The watches are not bad, but cheap is still there. The front of the ZGPAX S99 Pro has a touchscreen display with a rather wide black frame, and very noticeable and annoying touch buttons are located below – just like on smartphones. Below that are visible holes in the external speaker, and on top – the eye of the camera and microphone. On the left is a micro SIM tray, covered with a plastic cap. On the right side is the port microUSB, which the manufacturer did not consider it necessary to close any stub. Here are two buttons to control the clock (power and volume increase). The back side is plastic, there is no heartbeat sensor.

ZGPAX S99 Pro received a rounded shape that many users will like more. Like the square brother, the model is made primarily of plastic – only the front bezel is made of metal. However, high quality plastic is used, so there are no complaints about the assembly. The arrangement of elements has changed slightly. The front is decorated with a round display, slightly recessed into the case. Below you can see the microphone hole, on the left, the manufacturer has placed an external speaker. Two control buttons remained on the right side, but they became oval in shape. Buttons are responsible for on / off and return to the previous screen. Between them is the eye of the camera. Charging ZGPAX S99 Pro is carried out by means of a removable cradle, which is attached to the back side. The back cover, by the way, is removable – 4 screws are unscrewed at the edges. Just under the cover is a SIM card slot. Also on the back of the heart rate sensor appeared.

Both models of clock phones turned out really good. They can not boast of the most original design, but well assembled from high quality materials. It is difficult to say which watch looks better – here it is a matter of taste. However, today Smart Watch is in fashion with a classic design.

Immediately, I note that the displays are good for both models. The ZGPAX S99 Pro has a square screen with a diagonal of 1.54 inches, the resolution is 240×240 pixels. The display is quite clear, with a good margin of brightness and wide viewing angles. The sensor works fine, there was no hang-up. Management is implemented in the same way as on a smartphone, there are even touch buttons under the screen. The coating is of sufficient quality, but the protective film will not be superfluous, since the display is flush with the case. ZGPAX S99 Pro are equipped with a round-shaped display that is not cut from the bottom, as is often the case in other solutions. The diagonal is 1.33”, and the resolution is 360 × 360 pixels. Due to the high pixel density and small diagonal, the screen shows an excellent picture, has decent viewing angles and a sensitive sensor. Slightly recessed into the case, which eliminates unwanted scratches.

Here we come to the most interesting part of the review. What distinguishes the ZGPAX S99 Pro and S8 on the market is the productive “stuffing”, which includes processors that were originally designed for budget smartphones. ZGPAX S8 equipped with a 2-core chip from MediaTek – MTK6572, which works with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz. As a GPU uses Mali 400. The processor supports networks 3 the G . Differs in small energy consumption thanks to energy-efficient cores Cortex A 7, built on the 28-nm process technology. ZGPAX S99 Pro received even more modern chip from the same MediaTek – MTK6580. It is 4-core, running at up to 1.3 GHz, comparable in performance to Snapdragon 400. The same core Mali 400 is responsible for the graphics.

Based on this processor, even many new low-end smartphones, for example Umi London or Doogee Shoot 2, are manufactured. watch with a small screen resolution, it can open completely. RAM in both devices 512 MB, which is enough for such a small device. ZGPAX S99 has more permanent memory – as many as 8 GB, which is very good. At ZGPAX S8 we have 4 GB, which is also enough for any applications and for a decent collection of music. The installation of memory cards does not support the clock.

Of course, you can take pictures, but the quality is at the level of very old Siemens phones. Support clock, as already mentioned, the ability to install SIM -card, both devices operate in networks 3 the G , allowing a fairly high speed to open the web page. Although it is necessary for a smart watch, it’s hard to say. But the wireless interfaces Wi-Fi, Bluetooth here as it is impossible to place. The older version of the ZGPAX S8 Bluetooth is 3.0, the newer version of the ZGPAX S99 Pro is 4.0. The interfaces work fine, allowing you to connect a bunch of other devices and use the browser. In addition, the clock phones are not left without GPS, which, although not as fast as on smartphones, but it works. In general, the manufacturer tried to cram everything, lacking only NFC.
