Xiaomi opens the crowdfunding smart-interpreter

Today, Xiaomi presents a non-standard novelty. The smart interpreter is synchronized with the smartphone for the most comfortable work. The product is developed by Shanghai Hao Teng Intelligent Technology. The product will be available under the Lighten brand. Visually, the design of the device resembles a monopod. The interpreter is equipped with a special lens that reads information. Internal algorithms provide real-time translation of text.

Text reading is carried out by a special sensor, which recognizes not only the text, but also sound. The manufacturer reports that the accuracy of text recognition is 98%. On average, the translation takes about 0.3 seconds. When translating a book or printed documents, the maximum coverage of text information is 1750 cm². However, you must first connect your smartphone to the translator. This is done via Bluetooth 4.0.

Inside the interpreter there is a 2600 mAh battery. The device is charged via Micro USB interface. The readout sensor is a 13-megapixel Sony IMX 214 sensor with a wide-angle lens. This hardware solution provides full coverage of the identification area. The lens is capable of simultaneously covering two sheets of A4. It weighs about 190 grams. The dimensions are 34x34x162 mm. The gadget takes up a minimum of free space, so you can take it with you to work, study or travel.

Instant translation is provided by special algorithms developed by Xiaomi. The release of this device once again emphasizes that the Chinese manufacturer has significantly succeeded in the development of artificial intelligence technology. So far, the gadget supports only translation from English to Chinese, but in the future the developers will optimize it. There are plans to add other languages as well.
