A mobile phone with a projector function sounds very creative. Before we introduced a similar product from a Chinese brand: Homtom P1. Today we introduce another projector phone from the manufacturer known as the Rugged smartphone: Blackview.
First details on the Blackview Max 1, new smartphone with integrated laser projector expected in the coming weeks. According to the manufacturer’s limited information, the Blackview Max 1 features a 6-inch AMOLED screen in FHD+ format, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. In the official image you can also see on the back the main camera with single sensor and the fingerprint reader. The laser projector can offer up to 5 hours of projection and is auto focused.
The name will probably sound new to you, but Blackview Max 1 is a smartphone on which the Chinese company has been working for some time. It’s not a model like any other, although apparently it might seem so, because inside a frame with a modern design it incorporates a pico-projector. And that’s exactly the feature that will make it special: Blackview Max 1 will not only allow you to phone, surf the internet and check your social profiles, but also to watch your favorite movies, holiday videos and photos of your evening with friends, anytime and anywhere. All you need is a free white wall and a dark room.
The aesthetic aspect is in line with the latest trends, with a large display and a glass-covered shell that creates reflections and special lighting effects when hit by light. Interesting is the idea of equipping the smartphone with two selfie-cameras and a single main camera, as well as placing the fingerprint reader on the back and not on the front where it would have been convenient anyway.
From a technical point of view, Blackview Max 1 does not disappoint and integrates a beautiful OnCell 6.01-inch AMOLED Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D display with ultra-thin side frames and black bands above/below the screen to give symmetry to the design and accommodate the two front 16MP cameras, the various sensors, the headset capsule and the microphone. The platform will be based on a 2.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6763T processor, flanked by 6GB + 64GB expandable with a microSD card slot, while the 5000 mAh battery can be quickly recharged with a Type-C (12V/2A) USB port interposed between the speakers.
We can not help but notice the thickness and weight of this smartphone, largely due to the high capacity of the battery, but it can not be otherwise: Blackview Max 1 needs a lot of energy not only to cope with the consumption of the large display and the powerful processor, but especially the projector that – according to the Chinese company – should reduce the autonomy to about two hours in gaming sessions or in the playback of a movie. Blackview did not provide technical information on the pico projector but we expect good contrast and brightness and a maximum diagonal of 200 inches (5 meters). It’s just a shame that the smartphone doesn’t have built-in support to lift it during the projection.
To close the data sheet, there is no shortage of WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G-LTE, NFC chip, GPS/GLONASS and Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.

I have been using the Blackview MAX 1 for a while, and it features a built-in projector with automatic focus. It can project a clear screen up to 200 inches from 3 meters away. It also includes a built-in tripod and 360° surround sound speakers for an immersive experience. Additionally, the phone has a sharp AMOLED display and quality cameras. Its performance is smooth thanks to the Helio P23 processor and 6GB of RAM. The 4680mAh battery lasts a good amount of time. Overall, it’s a great phone with a built-in projector at a reasonable price.
