Meizu has repeatedly proven that it doesn’t need the ideas of the competition to create a brilliant smartphone. This could be another flagship of Meizu 16s, a model that openly ridicules notches and incompetent efforts of manufacturers to better fill the front.
However, the creators are concerned with something else, namely creativity in designing phones and showing the competition that it is possible to create an almost frameless and elegant smartphone without the use of indentations, holes and sliders.
The flagship Meizu 16s will be another example of this strategy, as it will have symmetrical and narrow frames around the 6.2-inch rounded AMOLED display. The screen will reach Full HD+ resolution and will be protected by Gorilla Glass 6. At first glance it looks phenomenal, and when you look at the details, you will notice an additional 1.5 mm less space than its predecessor.
The Snapdragon 855 processor will be responsible for the performance of the model, which heralds no problems with the speed of applications and games. The top central unit will be supported by a 3600 mAh battery. 600 mAh more than Meizu 16X.
The flagship has recently passed certification, which revealed another flavour in the specification – Super mCharge charging technology with a maximum power of 24 W. In opposition to this is the lack of wireless charging.
Meizu 16s will also receive a camera with a 48 MP main unit. It will be based on the Sony IMX586 sensor and will be supported by optical image stabilization (OIS). However, we do not know exactly how many lenses will be placed on the back wall. At this moment, I suddenly remembered that the other two phones of the Chinese brand UMIDIGI: UMIDIGI S3 Pro and F1 PLAY are also equipped with this 48.0MP Sony sensor.
The specification and appearance of the new flagship from Meizu is a hit, but it will be difficult to expect the price at the Xiaomi level. According to Meizu 16s will cost 3300 yuan, i.e. about 1860 PLN net.
There will also be a larger version of Meizu 16s Plus, this time equipped with a 6.76-inch screen. Its initial value remains unknown.
