OnePlus 6T, new images confirm in-display sensor and notch waterdrop

OnePlus is ready to unveil the next Android smartphone in its catalog on October 17, as seems to have been confirmed by a source on Weibo. Waiting for the media event, thanks to the precious reports of SmartPrice, we show you the exclusive renderings of OnePlus 6T and a 360-degree video that confirms all the salient points of smartphone design. The published material was provided by the loyal leakster @OnLeaks, which is a guarantee in terms of rumors for insiders.

The images render confirm what has so far been chatted on the web, or the presence of a waterdrop notch in the upper part of the display, similar to the OPPO R17 Pro smartphones and OPPO F9 Pro, or two leading models of the manufacturer of which OnePlus it’s sub-brand. With this notch we expect that OnePlus 6T has a slightly higher body-screen ratio than OnePlus 6 .

In the back, we see a dual-camera configuration with vertical positioning and a double LED flash module located just below. It is not equipped with a fingerprint sensor in the back, which will instead be present in in-display mode, on the AMOLED panel of about 6.4 inches.

Unfortunately, at least according to the complaints of users, OnePlus 6T will not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, we will certainly find a Type C adapter in the package.

In terms of physical dimensions, OnePlus 6T measures 157.5 x 75.7 x 8.2 mm. At its thickest point, which is the protrusion of the rear camera, the thickness will be 8.6 mm. More or less similar to those of the OPPO R17 Pro, as expected and slightly higher than OnePlus 6 (155.7 x 75.4 x 7.8 mm) where the thickness could indicate a larger battery.

OnePlus 6T: specifications, features

Turning to the technical specifications that we should find, the next smartphone OnePlus flagship will, as mentioned, equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 Full HD + resolution and a screen-body ratio 19.5: 9. protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

In terms of performance, OnePlus 6T will be more or less identical to OnePlus 6, the processor is the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 10nm clocked at 2.8 GHz and with an Adreno 630 GPU. In terms of memory, we expect OnePlus to offer the 6T model in three variants that we already know:

  • 6 GB of RAM  + 64 GB of ROM
  • 8 GB of RAM  + 128 GB of ROM
  • 8 GB of RAM + 256 GB of ROM

It is expected that the smartphone is equipped with a rear camera with 12.0MP primary sensor and variable aperture f/1.5, f/2.4 and a secondary sensor 20 megapixel stereo 3D. At the front, space for a  25-megapixel camera with AI technology for selfies and video chats.

Mouse connectivity with Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou; in addition, NFC module, Dual 4G VoLTE and a USB Type-C port for charging. The dimensions also suggest an improvement over OnePlus 6 in terms of battery life, We are talking about a module with two 1850 mAh batteries each, which should recharge 40% of the smartphone in just 10 minutes. In terms of software, OnePlus 6T will be available with OxygenOS version 9 based on Android 9.0 Android.
