We’re still waiting to hear from Mi Pad 4, but until then, it has to be said that we have at least a few great alternatives already to Mi Pad 3 for those who are looking for Chinese tablets of a certain level but with a more affordable price. To all of them, we have to add one more, not as popular as others, but with many virtues: so is the Alfawise Tab.

Of all the Chinese tablets competing against the Mi Pad 3, this Alfawise Tab is probably the one that most closely resembles it, at least in design, as it also clearly shows the “inspiration” in the iPad mini 4. We also have a metal casing, in addition, something that we can almost take for granted in Chinese tablets, although they don’t always leave us the premium sensations that they should, and this one does.

The technical specifications are also of great level, although it is true that they are one step behind the Mi Pad 3 at some point, such as the cameras (8 and 5 MP) or, what may be more important, the processor (which is an MT8173 instead of an MT8176). It should also be noted that it is not updated to Android Nougat, but stays in Marshmallow. We do, however, have an 8-inch laminated screen with 2048 x 1536 resolution, 4 GB RAM memory, 64 GB storage (without micro-SD, of course) and a 6200 mAh battery, which is a pretty good figure for such a tablet.

If we already like to offer video analysis of the Chinese tablets we are talking about, so that you can have a better idea of what we can really expect from them, many will be even more grateful considering that we are here with a brand that is far from being among the most popular. The reason why we actually decided to highlight it, however, is because the impressions it leaves behind are very positive.

As we have already mentioned, we must start by appreciating that the finishes are quite good and we see that it is a relatively light and thin tablet, in addition. Its great virtues, however, are in the multimedia section, as the screen has very good image quality and the speakers are also above average. To all this we must add a remarkable autonomy for what we are accustomed to see in Chinese tablets (more than 6 hours with games, which is one of the most demanding tasks) and also passes without problems performance tests.

The great advantage of this Alfawise Tab over the Mi Pad 3 is basically its price, since it can be found for 170 euros (as always, with small variations per distributor and depending on whether we find any offer). There is an interesting alternative that is more affordable, in some cases even down to EUR 150, but we usually have to sacrifice more in technical specifications.

The big drawbacks are that it comes with Android Marshmallow and does not have a micro-SD card slot, although the importance of these two features is something that varies quite a bit from one user to another. If these are important questions for you, it is probably more worth considering the Teclast T8. We will have to see what other interesting 8-inch tablets are still coming from China, in any case.
