The “small seat” look of the DJI Phantom still seems to inspire, as this E20 LED from Eachine shows. It is an entry-level device with brushed motors, which allows you to practice piloting with a minimum budget. The data sheet is attractive, as it can carry a 4K camera and has automated functions such as return to the point of departure and flights with crossing points. However, make no mistake about it, the E20 LED is not expensive, and that’s a clue.
The camera is available in 720p, 1080p, and 4K models. The price difference between the 3 models is so small that you should not hesitate to choose the 4K. The FOV is 120°. But this camera films without stabilization, neither mechanical nor electronic. This means that your video sequences will wriggle, even in the absence of wind. There is no GPS or vertical camera to ensure the automatic positioning of the device, let alone its return to the starting point. The One Key Return function announced in the data sheet is therefore based on the electronic compass, and most probably of very poor accuracy.
The battery is a 1200 mAh Lipo 2S which, according to Eachine, provides an autonomy of about 12 minutes. The weight of the aircraft, in flight order, is 280 grams. The camera’s video feedback is broadcast in wifi, with reception on a smartphone, for a range of about 50 meters. The little something extra about this device? Its propeller protections include LEDs, to be better seen. Perfect for flights at nightfall (but not at night, as regulations prohibit it), or in the gym. Not so good, the E20 LED? Maybe, but its price is very light: it is offered from $98.99 at Banggood Store.
