The Chinese company HOMTOM is expanding its entry-level class with the 6.1-inch HOMTOM S77 smartphone, which equipped with new MediaTek Helio A22 SoC and Android 9.0 Pie.
Already half a year after the launch of the Homtom S99, S99i and S88 were presented. Now, the S77-version has a 6.1 inch display with HD+ resolution in 19.5:9 format and a MediaTek Helio A22. Other features of under the $100 phone include 2 GB RAM and 16 GB flash memory.
The Android 9.0 Pie operating system is the latest version of the Google platform. Both the Homtom S77 and the S88 are based on the same software. Compared to its direct predecessor, the S88 has a much larger screen with 6.28 inches instead of 6.1 inches. Also new is the display format, which is now realized in the modern 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The MediaTek Helio A22 chipset (quad-core CPU, up to 2 GHz) does not tear up any trees, but should be sufficient for most everyday applications. After all, the SoC is energy-saving thanks to the 12 nm process. The main camera has 13 megapixels and a less impressive aperture of f/2.2. The same aperture was also given to the 13.0 megapixel front camera. Connection options include LTE Cat. 4, WLAN ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and Micro-USB. The Akku stemmt 6000 mAh.
With Homtom participating in the MWC conference in 2019, I believe that this Chinese company will bring us more surprise products in 2019, let us wait and see!
