The new Mecool M8S Max TV BOX includes Amlogic’s powerful SoC Octa Core S912 with 64 bit ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a Mali-T820MP3 GPU with support for video decoding up to 4K@60fps resolutions with HDR among other virtues. This equipment integrates in its motherboard 3 GB of DDR3 RAM memory and 32 GB of eMMc storage memory that we can expand thanks to the microSD card reader included. A configuration superfluous to be able to execute even any 3D game like the demanding PUBG.
At the wireless connectivity level, the Mecool M8S Max Smart Box includes wifi aC and Bluetooth 4.0 with internal antenna. As connectors we only have at the back an HDMI 2.0 interface with support for video output resolutions up to 4K@60fps, a pair of USB 2.0 connectors, 10/100 network port and an analog output for audio and video. The operating system is Android 7.1 and includes an IR remote control and cables.
In general, the Mecool M8S MAX set-top box deserves attention, given its capabilities and quite an attractive price. The set-top box differs from many similar set-top boxes by its normal build quality and absence of overheating. The main feature of the model is the presence of Android TV system with built-in voice assistant Google Assistant, which allows you to use all the advantages of modern system more comfortably. The M8S MAX works without any problems, although it shows mediocre results in the tests, but its main function – the playback of multimedia content – is performed without questions.
