MELE PCGO2 GLE Mini PC

The MeLE PCGO2 GLE is a Key PC, a format that has been somewhat lost in recent times, but is of interest to anyone looking for an extremely compact solution.

The brand first released a Celeron J4105 version in August of this year before switching to a Celeron J4125 a hair more efficient and above all better equipped. While this summer’s model came with 4 GB of basic DDR4 RAM and 8 GB as an option, the MeLE PCGO2 GLE only comes with 8 GB of DDR4. Its storage is also only available in 128 GB of eMMC compared to a 64 GB model previously.

And last but not least, the MicroSDXC card reader is no longer limited to 256GB but can now read 1TB formats, opening the door to greater storage options. For the rest it’s identical from a technical point of view with a switch to Celeron J4125 will bring a little more pep to the machine.

I strongly suspect that Intel will distribute the two Celeron processors at exactly the same price with better availability for the new model, which has allowed many manufacturers to upgrade their machines at little cost. As a reminder, this is a Gemini Lake Refresh quad-core solution clocked from 2 to 2.7 GHz with 4 MB of cache memory and an Intel HD 600 graphics circuit.

A chip that emits 10 watts of TDP and that MeLE seems to dissipate completely passively thanks to a special design. The whole body of the device is a heatsink that allows to get rid of the heat emitted by the chip. If I was a bit worried about these possibilities, a player reassured me that the model under Celeron J4105 with the same TDP it was using as a video player was working perfectly well.

The rest of the configuration is classic with a Wifi5 module, Bluetooth 4.2 with a mobile antenna and even a Gigabit Ethernet port. There are also two USB 3.0 ports and a MicroUSB to power the whole thing in 5V and 3A. The HDMI socket is in 2.0 format and a 3.5 mm audio jack port is also present to connect a headset and a microphone. The MeLE PCGO2 GLE is shipped with Windows 10 Pro.

The chassis seems to have evolved a little, however, where the previous model had a slightly thicker design at the Ethernet port, we can see that on the new model the key keeps the same thickness on the back of the model.

It is thus back to the design of the first classic MeLE PCGO2 version, which was then running on Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3537F processor. A format simply adjusted to match its new connectivity.
