Oukitel has introduced its second Rugged or Outdoor Smartphone with the WP5000. The Chinese mobile phone comes in the now become standard 18: 9 format therefore. The display is 5.7″ in size and has a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The OukitelWP5000 comes with dimensions of 168.8 x 81.9 x 13.9mm and a weight of 276.5g. For the high weight is not only responsible for the stable housing, which is waterproof up to 1.5m and falls of up to 1.2m away, but also the large 5.200mAh battery, which is recharged very quickly with 9V and 2A. As a processor, the Mediatek Helio P25 is used, which provides a decent performance and together with the large battery for a persistence of up to 3 days to ensure normal use. The processor is flanked by 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, so you do not have to accept any restrictions when multitasking. The internal memory is 64GB and can be expanded by Micro SD card, but one of the SIM slots is lost. As operating system Android 7.1 is used.
The camera on the back of the Oukitel WP5000 consists of two sensors. The main sensor should resolve with 21MP, the secondary sensor with 5MP. As usual it should be a fake dual camera. In addition, it can be assumed that the 21MP is an interpolated value. In the last of us tested Oukitel smartphones with 21MP camera was in truth always a 16MP sensor from Samsung installed – eg the Oukitel Mix 2. The same should also apply to the 13MP front camera. Here is to be expected with a native resolution of 8MP. Away from the camera, the Oukitel WP5000 also has a fingerprint sensor on the back and all the key sensors. A 3.5mm headphone port is missing the smartphone.
The Oukitel WP5000 is expected to ship in early April. Currently running at Oukitel an action in which you can secure by registering a $ 40 coupon. In addition, two free Oukitel WP5000 will be raffled under all registrations. The final price is quoted at just under $300, which is far too much. Based on previous experience, it may be assumed that the smartphone will then be sold permanently at most retailers for considerably less money.
