At today’s launch event, Redmi unveiled a flood of new products, including new laptops. It wasn’t so long ago that the brand entered the notebook business and presented cheaper versions of the Mi notebooks from Xiaomi. Now they continue the whole thing with more powerful models and have presented a cheaper counterpart to the Mi Notebook Pro from Xiaomi under the name RedmiBook 14 Pro.
The new laptops come in a noble, linear and angular design, which is completely made of metal and is available in new colours – including rosé. So the RedmiBook 14 Pro appears more like a noble notebook than a cheap blast. The new models are equipped with current Intel processors of the 10th generation (Ice Lake). Models with Core i5 and i7 processors are available. The portable computers are equipped with DDR4 RAM, an SSD and budget graphics from Nvidia.
For the displays, Redmi relies on LCD panels with Full HD resolution and a diagonal of 14 inches, which the name already suggests. The RedmiBook 14 Pro also has quite slim display edges of 5.75mm width. The weight is 1.5kg. A highlight is the battery life, which according to Redmi should be a full 10 hours. The laptop offers two USB 3 ports and one USB 2 port, an HDMI output and a 3.5mm port. The keyboard is not illuminated, as already with the RedmiBook 14. If you need this feature, you have to use the Xiaomi counterpart. The notebook is delivered with Windows 10 and Office Home.
The RedmiBook 14 Pro will go into regular sale in China on September 6th. The laptop will probably be available at the relevant resellers one to three weeks later. The Chinese prices are staggered as follows:
