Smartisan R2 4G Phablet

In 2018, Smartisan introduced the world’s first smartphone with 1 TB of internal memory. It was the Smartisan R1. Now the manufacturer is working on the second generation device. It will be called Smartisan R2. The smartphone will receive a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and a screen with an integrated fingerprint scanner. The feature of the future novelty will be that the frames on the sides of the display will be thicker than the chin, which has not yet been in any phone.

Smartisan R2 in the picture looks phenomenal. The front is almost entirely filled with the screen. When will Smartisan R2 hit the market and why wait for it?

Smartisan is not a brand especially known on the Polish market. No wonder, because smartphones of this manufacturer are generally not easily accessible, which does not mean, however, that it is not worth knowing something about them. The best example of this is Smartisan R2, which looks great on your knees. Too beautiful to be true?

The first thought that came to my mind after the first glance at Smartisana R2 was the similarity to the Lumia line. If in 2018 someone would like to release the best Windows Mobile smartphone in history (the bar is not particularly high, but still), it would look just like that.

Frameless screen, rectangular body and tiled interface are quite clearly associated. Finally, a smartphone for those who are still clinginging to their Lumia? I would look at it this way. I have only one concern. You’ve certainly noticed that the photo was taken in a special way.

You can’t see the bottom edge of the screen and that’s where I expect a large frame on which the front camera would be placed. However, considering the thickness of the remaining edges of the display, it will probably be acceptable. Especially since there is no note at the top. And what is hidden inside?

Smartisan R2 will surely be the flagship, so its interior will be dominated by the strongest components currently available. If the smartphone is to make its debut this year (its predecessor had its premiere in May, so it is not very likely), then the heart of the device will be Snapdragon 845. Unless the debut moves and we will see a successor on board, which I strongly hope for.

As far as the rest of the specification is concerned, the residual information I managed to find is about 6 or 8 GB of RAM. The camera on the back will be double. Both lenses will have 20 megapixels each, and there will be optical image stabilization for each of them. The reader is to be integrated with the display, which also indicates quite clearly that it will be made in OLED technology.

Is it worth waiting for it? In my opinion, this is because it looks phenomenal. Will it have something to offer beyond appearance? We will see this over the next few months, because new information will surely reach the network. What is your opinion about Smartisan R2?
