The T0 Electric Scooter comes well and safely packed to its rider. The electric pedal scooter is almost completely assembled. The last step is the assembly of the handlebars and the tightening of four screws, an Allen key is included in the delivery. So the T0 Electric Scooter is ready for use in less than five minutes.
In addition to the dismantled electric pedal scooter, a power supply unit and a cable for charging the built-in battery are also included. Lights and bell are already installed and working. Only the mechanical brake on the rear wheel is slightly weakly adjusted at the factory. The wire of the brake line can be tightened more tightly with a 4-key. A few millimetres are sufficient to increase the effect of the brake.
In contrast to its sister Segway Kicks cooter ES2, the T0 Electric Scooter does not roll on solid rubber tyres, but on pneumatic tyres with tubes. Access to the valves is somewhat bulky and therefore Xiaomi provides a short valve extension for pumps. Without this extension, pumping the tires is a bit of a wrap job. Two spare tubes for the tires are also included.
The frame of the T0 Electric Scooter is made of aluminium, the total weight is 12.5 kg. The individual parts are welded together. The unsightly seams are visible when you look under the 55 cm long and 15.2 cm wide running board. All in all, the construction is permanently hard-wearing and resistant. Even at the top speed of 27 km/h, the driver stands safely and immovably on the ribbed and rubberised standing surface.
The T0 Electric Scooter can be folded in less than 15 seconds. Then it is no longer 1.14 m but only 49 cm high. The folding mechanism is located between the handlebar and the running board. The easiest way to transport the electric pedal scooter is to fold it up. The handlebars are connected to the rear wheel cap via a click system.
The T0 Electric Scooter is an electric pedal scooter with step support. Standing on it and accelerating is not enough, the driver must push. Only at a certain speed does the electric motor start. In the test, the motor power of 250 W from the front wheel worked from a driving speed of 3 km/h. The manual pedalling is not sufficient. The manual pedalling is no longer necessary after the electrical assistance; once rolled up, the T0 Electric Scooter drives continuously electrically.
The control panel of the electric pedal scooter is located on the handlebar. On the left the brake and the bell are located, on the right the throttle. The T0 Electric Scooter mainly via a disc brake on the rear wheel. An electric assistance brake with energy recovery is located in the front wheel and also prevents the wheels from locking (ABS).
Just like the Segway Kickscooter ES2, the T0 Electric Scooter has a cruise control system. It can be activated via the smartphone app. If you keep the gas tap pressed for more than five seconds at a time, the speed remains constant. A short pull on the brake is enough to interrupt the automatic operation.
The T0 Electric Scooter lacks a screen to display speed or other status information. Instead, four LEDs light up in the middle of the handlebar, indicating the battery level in 25 percent increments. Below this is the on/off button, which also activates the front and rear lights.
Via the iPhone and Android app, the anti-theft lock can be inserted via Bluetooth. If you now try to move the scooter, the T0 Electric Scooter blocks the wheels.
The T0 Electric Scooter is very easy to drive: switch on the electric pedal scooter, stand on it with one leg, push forward with the other leg and accelerate. It’s easy to get in, especially because the electric support is a lot of fun to drive. The T0 Electric Scooter is fast and pleasant to drive even over longer distances. The advertised maximum speed of 27 km/h was reached in the test, in some cases even exceeded with 28 km/h. From a charge level of less than 25 percent the engine power decreases and the T0 Electric Scooter is sluggish. With the Segway ES2 this effect is only noticeable from less than 10 percent.
Xiaomi advertises the electric pedal scooter with a range of up to 30 km. At top speed, it has a distance of 18.2 km on level ground. Driving was on a closed area at 32 degrees Celsius. The driver’s load was 90 kg. The maximum load is 100 kg, this limit must not be exceeded. The Xiaomi scooter can cope with increases up to an angle of 13 degrees. From 14 degrees nothing works anymore.
The battery of the T0 Electric Scooter is fixed in the frame. For charging, the user takes the scooter inside with him. The integrated 30 cells have a nominal system charge of 7800 mAh. The battery takes 5 hours and 30 minutes to charge 100%. The charger consumes 75 W of power. At a working price of 0.28 euros, a full charge costs less than 0.11 euros.
Due to its design, the T0 Electric Scooter is not approved for road use at speeds in excess of 6 km/h. Electric driving in public places is therefore not permitted. It is therefore only a leisure device that can be used on private or company premises.
