The Vivo Y81 arrives as one of the new mid-range models presented by the manufacturer during 2018. Its main arguments are centered in a screen with notch of 6.22 inches, version of up to 4 GB of RAM and operating system based on Android 8.1 Oreo, all for little less than a price of $209.
The screen of the Vivo Y81 is based on an IPS panel with In-Cell technology that extends along 6.22 inches. A display that offers a renewed look thanks to the concept of screen without bevels, with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a screen ratio of 88%. The resolution of this panel is HD+, with 1.520 x 720 pixels and a density of 270 dots per inch.
The processor used in the new Vivo Y81 corresponds to a MediaTek MT6762 chip, also known as MediaTek Helio P22. It has an eight-core architecture and a GE8320 PowerVR GPU that works at a maximum frequency of up to 650 MHz.
In the internal memory section, the Vivo Y81 has a 32 GB NAND Flash chip, although it is possible to expand the storage space thanks to the provision of a slot for micro SD cards up to 256 GB. For its part, the RAM memory reaches 4 GB for the most prominent version, although the base model has 3 GB.
The Vivo Y81 uses a 13 megapixel sensor for its rear camera, which in turn has lenses with f/2.2 focal aperture. At the front there is a second five megapixel camera with f/2.2 lens. Among the functions to be highlighted in this point is the portrait mode with bokeh effect, as well as the recognition of scenes thanks to artificial intelligence. It should also be noted that Vivo’s smartphone also offers autofocus by phase detection, HDR filter, Pro mode and even voice control.
The Vivo Y81 battery comes with a lithium polymer configuration and a maximum capacity of 3,260 mAh. It has fast charge with output of 5 Volts and 2 Amps.
The Vivo Y81 connections announced in its technical data sheet refer to 4G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS assisted with GLONASS and BeiDou satellite networks. As far as physical connections are concerned, there is a microUSB interface as well as a mini jack headphone connector.
