Xiaomi is a company that is not afraid to try new things, to launch products we wouldn’t have imagined and to try to make them successful. In order to do this it has different strategies but one of them is Youpin, a crowdfunding portal in which it presents all kinds of products. Today we’re going to talk about their treadmills, which obviously connect to our smartphone.
The first model of this type of product was the WalkingPad P1, a transportable belt that weighs 28 kilos and supports up to 90 kg of weight of the person who exercises. In the front has an LED screen that shows relevant data of the exercise we are doing but there is no support to grab us. As a curious option, we can see the information of our exercise in a Xiaomi Mi TV, although as it is logical it is available only for China.
It can be connected to our smartphone with the Mi Home application and has two modes, one simple with fixed speed and another that adapts to the speed we want, in real time.
The second model of this type of product has recently been introduced and is currently on the Xiaomi crowfunding platform, which is used to see the real interest of potential buyers with different products, as is the case. This model is much larger (measures 1432 x 547 x 129mm) and has a platform in the front area where there is a touch panel that controls various functions. These parameters can also be controlled from an application on our mobile, as it connects by bluetooth to the tape.
Physical activity is essential to maintaining health. Doctors recommend walking outdoors not once a week or even every day. Ideally, it is better to go for a walk several times a day. Of course, you can go to the gym, but it takes a long time to get there and back. In warm weather it is much better to go for a walk in the morning and evening. But what if it’s cold outdoors? Perhaps you just don’t want to go outside? The Xiaomi WalkingPad P1 is the perfect solution in this situation.
One of the main features of the Xiaomi WalkingPad P1 is its compact size. The treadmill will not take up much space in your apartment. What’s more, the Xiaomi treadmill isn’t high, and it easily folds in half. This is a great option for a small apartment. Its overall size is comparable to a suitcase – you can store the device even under the bed.
Folding the track is very easy – just fold it in half and connect it along the curved edge. The wheels on the other end of the body make it easy to move the treadmill from one place to another, even without lifting it off the ground.
WalkingPad P1 is equipped with two operating modes. One of them allows you to change the speed of the track with the remote control. The other mode is fully automatic, and the speed is set according to a person’s movement. If the system detects that the user is approaching the beginning of the track, it gradually increases the speed. If the user is always close to the end of the track, the speed slows down slowly.
Practice shows that at the right speed a person stays in the middle of the track, and the treadmill constantly maintains this speed. It is also worth noting that the results of physical activity are stored in a special application on your smartphone. The application records the total time and average speed of movement, and then calculates the number of calories consumed. The program also allows you to compare the results of your lessons over a long period of time. The function is not only interesting, but also useful, as it helps to clearly see how physical activity improves during regular exercise.
This model is more professional than the first one and although it costs something more, its cost is not too high. The price of this model is $599.99, but at the moment there seems to be no plans to get it out of China.
