After the HomTom S99 follows the outdoor version! This is taken from the sub-brand “ZOJI”. At least when it comes to the design that reminds you of a Huawei Mate 10 Pro . Under the dress glass front and back and an outdoor armor is solid hardware again. Just to name a few: Helio P23, 6 + 64GB memory, 5.7 “display and 5500 mAh battery. We took a closer look at the upcoming outdoor smartphone.

With the saying “Strong enough to lead you around the world” appears the HomTom Zoji Z9. What is meant by an outdoor smartphone, which can sometimes get something, provides enough battery and also does not neglect the aspects of user experience for the user. Outdoor phones from HomTom we had already tested: the HT70 did not do much right, but revealed no serious weaknesses. With the new model and the brand “Zoji” you want to do it differently now.

At first glance, the new HomTom Zoji Z9 looks like a Huawei Mate 10 Pro in an outdoor dress – of course, cheaper and with different proportions. The complete exterior of the HomTom Zoji Z9 features 3 aspects in particular:

• The “ZOJI” lettering on the front and the back
• The color-contrasting camera unit on the back
• And of course the outdoor elements in orange

Even so, the two glass surfaces look nice, while the sturdy frame looks like a shell. That the back resembles the flagship of Huawei, should not bother us now. This is described as particularly reflective, which should help to find again. The frame has a power button and a volume rocker on the right side as well as the slot for SIM cards on the opposite side. The rest is nice to look at but rather useful. Also, you can not call the smartphone as a “full screen”.

A 5.7-inch display in 18: 9 format is used, but you also have to live around with large margins. The IPS panel resolves with HD +, which corresponds to 1440 x 720 pixels . This gives you a PPI of 282 – the value is scratching at the retina border, but it is still sufficient for an outdoor smartphone.

The HomTom ZOJI Z9 is an outdoor smartphone and will take a few drops. It has been certified with IP68 – the highest protection against dust ingress and survives continuous submersion. The display glass is protected with G + G Corning Gorilla Glass.
