Blackview BV5900 Pro Rugged phone with MT6761 CPU

The Blackview BV5900 Pro is the latest model of the Chinese armadillo manufacturer. The smartphone was exhibited without big fanfare at MWC 2019, but now we have a more official presentation of this device. The BV5900 Pro, compared to other models from the reinforced BV line, represents the lowest budget shelf and its specification will satisfy only the most economical ones.

Like all Blackview battleships, the BV5900 Pro model of course guarantees high IP68 protection, meets the newer and higher, less popular IP69K standard, passed the MIL-STD-810G tests and the manufacturer guarantees resistance to falls from a height of 1.2m. On the other hand of Dustproof and Waterproof is defined as 99% and immersion resistance as 1.5 m deep. The Blackview BV5900 Pro enclosure combines a metal frame with a solid plastic and a TPU finish, which should guarantee resistance to the hardships of everyday life.

The Blackview BV5900 Pro received a decent 5.71 inch 18:9 IPS screen, but also a risky low resolution of 720*1520, which translates into a density of 295 ppi. This provides a very low level of image detail that is no longer found on even the cheapest smartphone today. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The power for Blackview BV5900 Pro is provided by MediaTek MT6761 (14 nm) with four Cortex-A53 cores up to 2.0 GHz. This chip is already well known from many inexpensive smartphones, such as the recently reviewed Cubot Quest Lite. It’s hard to count on great performance, especially since the BV5900 Pro has only 3GB of RAM. This combination may not be enough for many applications, but hopefully the new Android 9.0, which manages the work of the BV5900 Pro, will be able to provide it with adequate liquidity.

The internal memory is 16 GB and can be expanded with microSD cards up to 128 GB. Other parameters of BV5900 Pro should also not be a big secret: connectivity is provided by two SIM sockets, LTE module cat. 4/5 with download speed up to 150 Mbps, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 with NFC, and the location is guaranteed by GPS with GLONASS and Beidou. There was no shortage of a fingerprint reader.
