At the idea of flying in immersion, what may bother you is… immersion! Being cut off from the rest of the world and being deprived of some of the visual information can be scary. However, the glasses and immersion masks cut completely from the outside – that’s normal, that’s the goal. This Hawkeye mask allows you to enjoy video feedback on a large screen without triggering a claustrophobic feeling. It is based on a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, in 16:9, PAL and NTSC compatible.
The display is associated with a 5.8 GHz video receiver with two antennas in RP-SMA format, with a sensitivity of -93 dB. It is compatible with 48 channels. The manufacturer ensures that the mask does not produce a blank screen when reception is poor, but displays snow. It is possible to let the auto search function find the channels used, or to select them manually.
The mask weighs 120 grams. It comes with a stick antenna, an omni-directional antenna, velcro, video cable and a power cable for a battery with XT60 connector. It is also supplied with a cover that still allows you to completely isolate yourself from the outside. The display provides a video output to broadcast the signal to another device, such as a DVR recorder, and an input to use the video signal from another receiver.
