HiSense K8 Smartphone with Huawei HiSilicon 820 CPU

The truth is I hate pop-nosing into other people’s business, but it is tech right? Yeah, of course; tech is our business. So today, I came across the most strangest smartphone listing on JD.com of an HiSense smartphone being powered by Huawei HiSilicon CPU. What just happened? Is HiSense now licensed to used Huawei HiSilicon CPU or this is just some listing error?

We do know that US trade sanction is currently biting hard on Huawei, and that the company recently handed over her Honor business wing to a new management is fairly understandable. But would Huawei start selling Chipsets to other phone makers in a season when the company is running out of Chips?

Well, we don’t know that yet, and the listing might be in error, besides, the device listed looks like a rebranded Honor 10X phone, but with a dot-notch, instead of the pop selfie on the Honor model.

As for the listing, it is an HiSense K8 smartphone, an explosion proof device for those working in gas related settings. It comes in a 6.53-inches screen with 1080 x 240 pixels res, 60Hz refresh and the aforementioned dot-notch cutout.

The phone is powered by Kirin 820 CPU, and come with either 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB ROM. There are four camera modules on the rear; a 64MP main, 8MP tele, 8MP wide and 2MP macro sensors; while a 32MP selfie sensor is used in the notch upfront.

What’s more; the device support USB Type-C, has a side mounted fingerprint scanner, support dual SIM with 4G/5G network, provides 4000mAh battery with 40W fast charger and run Google Android 10 out of the box.
