MECOOL KM8 Google Certified Android TV Box with Voice Remote

During the past year, Android TV have had a great reception even among users who already had a Smart TV, because they are small and cheap devices that give our television all the versatility offered by the Android operating system. Today we are going to talk about another of these devices that we found interesting, the Mecool KM8, a TV Box of small dimensions and weight that despite having a really low price is able to provide a good performance for content playback a 4K resolution.

And it is that this KM8 is powered by an old acquaintance, the SoC Amlogic S905X that integrates in the same chip an ARM Mali-450 GPU of proven efficiency to handle 4K resolution and even 3D games thanks to its eight cores operating at 2 Ghz. Of course, in this case we may be a bit short for games because the SoC is accompanied by 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and in this case 16 GB of internal storage that fortunately we can expand up to 128 GB using a memory card in micro SD format.

It is as we said a simple device, and really goes with the right. Maybe it will be able to play 4K content but not in a loose way, but nevertheless for Full HD resolution it will be superfluous even for its connection attributes. Assemble a Fast Ethernet network card (10/100) and its integrated WiFi is 802.11 b / g / n, so we can not expect spectacular transfer speeds but good enough to play content over the network from a NAS for example, or from streaming platforms such as Netflix or Movistar+.

In any case, it comes with Android 9.0 pre-installed and you know that the options that this gives us are huge. Besides, it also has pre-installed KODI version 17.0 with all the plugins that may be needed, so that users who do not want to have to complicate their lives can simply connect the Mecool KM8 to the power grid, network outlet and HDMI and start working with it from the comfort of the sofa, since it also includes an infrared remote control as standard.

Finally, to emphasize that it is an Android TV of small dimensions because it only measures 9.80 x 9.80 x 2.60 cm and barely weighs 120 grams, which together with its black color will be good in any part of the room where we want to place it.
