The new MINIX NEO U22-XJ TV box is based on a 12nm six-core SoC Amlogic S922XJ with 4 ARM Cortex-A73 + 2 ARM Cortex-A53 processors and a graphics processor – a powerful ARM Mali-G52 MP6 that allows us to easily launch games like PUBG. This version of the S922XJ processor differs from the S922X in its official support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Amlogic Video Engine (AVE-10) processor is used as VPU with support for the latest generation of video formats. RAM will be 4 GB of DDR4, and eMMc memory will be 64 GB with the possibility of expansion thanks to microSD card reader. WiFi AC 2 × 2 MIMO and Bluetooth 4.2 are supported, and the connectors include 3 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB Type-C for data transfer, Gigabit Ethernet connector, SPDIF digital audio output, HDMI 2.1, microSD reader and two audio connectors. The operating system will be Android 9 with a new MINIX lounge.
The housing also has a reset button, an external antenna connector and a Kensington lock. A simple IR remote control is available with the MINIX NEO U22-XJ, while Android 9.0 with the classic MINIX GUI is used as the system. It is expected that the MINIX NEO U22-XJ TV box will go on sale in November for about $169.99.
