OUKITEL, a Chinese manufacturer, has released a tough phone, WP13, which has a numbering system that is too simple to tell whether it is an entry-level or high-spec smartphone. The WP12, which Priceboon also reviewed, is an entry-level phone, while the WP11 is a missing number and the WP10 is a mid-range class phone with 5G support.
This WP13 is a mid-range device with 5G support. It is capable of playing games and is suitable for everyday use, so depending on the price, it may become popular.
The OS is the latest Android 11 and the CPU is MediaTek’s Dimensity 700. We tested this CPU in our review of the POCO M3 Pro 5G, and it scored 330,000 on Antutu Ver.9, which is good enough to play games like Uma Musume. I think you need to choose the game title to some extent, but I think it has enough power to be called a mid-range machine.
There’s 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is plenty. The display, on the other hand, is only HD+ in resolution, which some may find a little frustrating.
The camera is a triple lens with 48MP on the outside and 8MP on the inside, which is a little short for this class. The main camera is 48MP, which is commendable, but the lack of a wide-angle lens might not be so great. Also, there’s a “Thermometer Sensor” in this image…
This product can measure your body temperature, a feature that is widely available in UMIDIGI products, but being able to measure temperature is a great feature for a tough phone.
Also, it has a simple mode which I’ve never seen on a Chinese phone. It’s a UI that even elderly people can use with ease. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea, but I’m sure it’s a good idea. I’d love to try it out on a Chinese phone. I’d love to try it out.
The front of the phone has a water drop notch. The top and bottom bezels are a bit thicker than expected. The back also has a leather-like pattern. I’m not sure if it’s real leather, but it gives it a premium look.
It’s a little hard to see, but you can see the button layout on the left and right side. On the left side (left side of the image) is the SIM slot and the customization key (a button that allows the user to assign any operation), and on the right side (right side of the image) are the power and volume buttons. The right side (right side of the image) has the power button and the volume buttons. The power button probably doubles as the fingerprint sensor as this product is fingerprint enabled.
The OUKITEL WP13 comes in two colours, orange and black. The base colour is black and only the accent colours are different.
The OUKITEL WP13 is of course IP68/IP69K water and dust resistant and MIL STD-810G rugged, so you don’t have to worry about the ruggedness as OUKITEL has made many tough phones in the past.
