Teclast has again introduced a new tablet, which runs on Android and relies on an ARM processor. The Teclast T20 is located in the middle class and is relatively affordable. The tablet is based on the design of the already tested by us Teclast Master T10 and is externally hardly distinguishable from this. The Teclast T20 is made entirely of metal, with the exception of a recess at the top. The front is covered by a large 10.1 inch IPS LCD display. This works with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and has a 10-point touch screen. Whether the display is laminated with the front glass like the Master T10 is still unknown.
On the back of the tablet there is a main camera with 13MP and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the sides you will find a loudspeaker on the left and right. Here again the same well-sounding speakers as in the T10 are used. In addition, the T20 is equipped with a dedicated audio amplifier to further improve the output. Added to the right is a 3.5mm connector and a drawer for a Micro SD card. On the left is a USB Type-C connector with USB 2.0 and OTG support. The power and volume keys have Teclast on the top. The front of the Teclast T20 is interrupted by a front camera with also 13MP and a brightness sensor for the automatic control of the display illumination.
The Helio X20 processors from Mediatek are reviving in the tablet niche. Various manufacturers already offer tablets with the Helio X20. The Teclast T20 also falls into this category, but relies on the Helio X27, which represents the most powerful representative of the X20 series. The processor has two Cortex A72 cores at 2.6GHz, four Cortex A53 cores at 2GHz and four Cortex A53 cores at 1.6GHz. The GPU is a Mali T880 MP4 with 875MHz. In the Antutu benchmark, the processor achieves values of up to 115,000 points with proper cooling. The processor is combined with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. This is the maximum memory supported by this chip. In addition there are 64GB eMMC5.1 memory for your personal data. This can be extended as already mentioned with a Micro SD card.
The power supply takes over a large 8100mAh battery in the Teclast T20. This supports Pump Express Plus and can be fully charged quickly. According to Teclast, the battery should support up to 8 hours of video playback in Full HD resolution. For the network connection WLAN 802.11a / b / g / n / ac is used. In addition, Bluetooth 4.0 is supported. Why Teclast renounces mobile phone support is a mystery to us. The Helio X27 offers an integrated mobile modem, so implementation would have been easy. Another weak point is probably the software dar. Probably because Teclast currently does not provide information on the Android version used. Gearbest but the tablet is listed and there Android 7.0 is specified. If that’s true, that would probably be the biggest criticism of the Teclast T20.
In Teclast they have proposed to give the Teclast T20 the best possible beautiful appearance. This has been achieved thanks to a light cover made of an aluminum alloy and thin edges with a bright frame, with all these details you will fall in love with the Teclast T20 at first sight. An ideal design for its 10.1-inch screen with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution , high brightness with a sensor that adjusts depending on brightness, reading modes and eye protection. It also makes use of One Glass Solution to reduce the thickness of the screen and has an oleophobic coating so that the fingerprints are not so marked.
You need a performance to the height to enjoy this great screen and the Teclast T10 offers that and more. It has a MediaTek MT6797X processor with six cores and 4GB of RAM to perform several tasks at the same time in a fluid way. With the Teclast T20, joining the world of video games has never been easier thanks to its PowerVR GX6250 700 MHz graphics card and its 8100 mAh battery with fast charge, the autonomy of the Teclast T20 is guaranteed for many hours of use.
The photographic section in the tablets is usually not one of the priorities for manufacturers, something in which Teclast has set and for that reason they have equipped their latest model with a pair of enviable cameras. Its front camera is 13MP and has a beauty mode to get the best ‘selfies’, while its rear camera is 13MP and has focal aperture f/2.0 to get clear pictures. Capture the best moments of your life with Teclast T20!
We can not say goodbye without first talking about the other features that make the Teclast T20 an option to consider: Equipped with the latest generation of SWEET speakers with the amplifier unit AW8376 to achieve high volume and no noise, dual WiFi band, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 7.0 Nougat as operating system for a fluid and stable long-term experience.
I’m wondering why the M20 with an older Mediatek X20 is out with Android 8, whereas this with a news X27 (but actually the same chip, so the rom should work as well) is announced to come (in the future) with Android 7
.
besides I still appreciate the return of the GPS on tablets, despite I prefer a 3:2 aspect ratio on screens up to 22-24″
