The manufacturer Transtec also gives in to the temptation of DJI’s real-time digital video feedback system! Its Beetle Hom is a very small structure, at least in relation to the volume of the FPV Air Unit box, with a diagonal of 13 cm of motorized engine. Its carbon arms are 2.5 mm thick. It is based on 2.5 inch three-bladed Gemfan 2540 propellers on 1106 brushless motors – their KV is not indicated in the data sheet. The ESC is a 4-in-1 25A aircraft driven by a Transtec F411 HD flight controller based on an F4 processor, flashed with Betaflight. The back of the fairing is illuminated by a row of Y-shaped LEDs.
The device weighs 134 grams without battery and without propeller guards. There is not much space left inside once the DJI camera and FPV Air Unit are installed on board, so it is recommended to use the DJI radio reception function and remote control. Transtec offers 2 custom liner antennas, designed to replace those of DJI with “almost the same performance as those of DJI”, provides the technical data sheet. The device must be powered with 750 mAh 3S batteries for an autonomy, according to the manufacturer, of 7min30 ! It will be interesting to check if the airflow in flight is sufficient to ensure the cooling of the FPV Air Unit. If, also, the frame is devoid of vibrations to come back with beautiful images….
The 130mm Beetle Hom will be offered at $151.80 at Banggood (without postage, without taxes) in a version equipped with flight controller and engines but without DJI equipment, or 280 € in a ready-to-fly version with DJI system.
