When discussing outdoor surveillance cameras in China, the offer is quite limited. If for the interior we find some good models in the Xiaomi offer, most of them for the outside are produced by various obscure companies that use the same universal application that you install with fear and which almost never work properly. I use such a camera for the exterior and even if the hardware chapter succeeds to please me, on the software side remains valid what I wrote above.

Recently, Banggood offered an outdoor camera that was launched in Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform, compatible with the Mi Home application. Products that are not manufactured by Xiaomi, but that are integrated into the Mi ecosystem, we think we can count them on our fingers. Typically, these are quality products that have to meet the standards imposed by the Chinese manufacturer.

Outside the room is very similar to the Xiaomi products, with the same minimalist and modern look. The advantage is that it works with the battery, and that means you will not need an energy source to operate it. It has a capacity of 5000mAh, making it possible to use the camera for up to 100 days with a single charge. Most likely, it can be uploaded via a MicroUSB port, even though we did not find any information about this in the specification.

For a more stable signal, the camera uses a gateway that can be connected via WiFi or even a network cable. Files can be saved on both a MicroSD card (up to 64GB) and the cloud (probably valid only for China). Its housing has a degree of protection IP65, which means it can be installed and used without problems, with temperatures up to -20 ℃ – 50 ℃.

Records at FullHD resolution, and for night-time shooting, it is equipped with 8 infrared LEDs. Even if I do not find such a useful feature in an outdoor camera, it has an integrated microphone and speaker to allow communication between 2 people.
