Xiaomi has patented another foldable smartphone

Today it became known that the international patent office approved the application of Xiaomi for another folding smartphone. The design of this concept has some similarities with the 2019 Motorola Razr. This is not the first Chinese manufacturer’s patent for mobile devices with this form factor. The first patent was confirmed on December 6. The new conceptual version of the smartphone will fold vertically. However, there are serious differences when compared with the first patent.

Reports show that the smartphone will not have a front panel with a front camera and other sensors. The rejection of these hardware modules will significantly expand the screen space. However, innovation does not end there. The diagram shows that the front camera sensor and LED flash will be located inside the retractable module.

On the back are two cameras and an LED flash. These are unique sensors because they are inside a small display. The main purpose of this screen is to display notifications when the smartphone is in a folded state. Therefore, there are three holes inside the small display. Xiaomi continues to patent new concepts for foldable smartphones, as executives understand what exactly lies behind these devices.

At the beginning of next year, the first batch of the Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha concept smartphone will be released. It is presented in limited quantities. Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 is scheduled to launch next year, which may also debut with a flexible screen.
