AtomForm, the Shenzhen-based 3D printing company incubated within the MOVA ecosystem, unveiled its first UV printing device, the Mojo 1, at TCT Asia 2026 in Shanghai on March 17. The device subsequently appeared at IFA Berlin in September 2026, where visitors had the opportunity to see the production unit in person.

The company, founded just over a year ago with three completed funding rounds, has positioned the Mojo 1 as a complementary module to its existing FDM 3D printing lineup, extending its desktop fabrication ecosystem into the realm of full-color surface decoration.

Filling a Color Gap in Desktop Fabrication

UV printing is known for its strong color reproduction, broad material compatibility, and high efficiency. By integrating a UV printer into its product portfolio, AtomForm allows users to apply full-color patterns directly onto surfaces including wood, metal, glass, acrylic, and plastic — without the constraints of a single fabrication process.

The device produces what the industry describes as a 2.5D output: while a 3D printer constructs an entire object, a UV printer applies high-precision graphics and relief textures on top of existing surfaces. This distinction positions the Mojo 1 less as a replacement for 3D printing and more as a complementary tool for applications such as customized gifts, cultural merchandise, and IP-derived products.

Strong Reception at Trade Shows

At TCT Asia 2026, the Mojo 1 drew crowds on its opening day, with attendees queuing to try the device hands-on. Live demonstrations showed visitors converting digital designs into tangible personalized products, with sample displays highlighting the printer’s color fidelity and material adaptability. The same reception followed at the RAPID+TCT show in Boston in April, where Mojo 1 again attracted significant attention from both industry professionals and the public.

A Growing Market for Desktop UV Printing

The launch comes as the desktop UV printer market enters a pivotal growth phase. According to market research firm Mordor Intelligence, the global UV printer market was valued at approximately $1.1 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach $1.58 billion by 2031, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.59%. Analyst forecasts estimate global consumer-grade UV printer shipments at 170,000 units in 2026, rising to 440,000 by 2029.

Consumer UV printers achieve their accessibility by reducing the number of industrial-grade printheads and miniaturizing mechanical structures, compressing what were once devices costing tens of thousands of dollars into the consumer price range. The broader desktop fabrication category — including 3D printers and laser engravers — has already demonstrated consumer appetite for personal manufacturing tools, and UV printing is emerging as the next adjacent category.

Competition in the space is intensifying. Anker Innovations’ eufyMake E1 raised $46.76 million on Kickstarter in 2025, the highest crowdfunding total in the platform’s history. Other players, including Longer, Procolored, HeyGear, and xTool, are also entering the market. AtomForm’s approach differs by positioning Mojo 1 within an integrated multi-process ecosystem rather than as a standalone product.

The Ecosystem Play

AtomForm’s strategy centers on offering users multiple fabrication pathways — FDM 3D printing and UV surface printing — under a single brand. The company’s Palette 300, a 12-nozzle FDM printer capable of combining 12 materials and 36 colors, continues to serve as its flagship 3D printing product, and has received design recognition including a MUSE Design Award Gold and a 2026 iF Design Award.

The company’s engineering team accounts for more than 60% of its workforce, drawn from cross-disciplinary backgrounds spanning multiple fields — a characteristic AtomForm credits for its rapid product development pace.

With the Mojo 1 now having completed appearances at major trade shows in Asia, North America, and Europe, AtomForm is positioning itself as a platform player in the desktop fabrication space — one that bets on creative flexibility across processes rather than single-device performance. Whether that ecosystem vision resonates with consumers will depend on pricing, software integration, and the continued maturation of the desktop UV printing supply chain.
