A few months ago we had a look at the spray mop of the brand Deerma, financed by Xiaomi, and now a vacuum cleaner is coming onto the market. The Deerma DX800S comes with high suction power – and should cost less than 100€. As is so often the case in the Xiaomi universe, the vacuum cleaner is on its way to the Chinese shops after it was successfully financed via Kickstarter. What to expect from him, you can read here.
In fact, the information so far known about the DX800S is still very poor. But this can be emphasized positively: The suction power should be 14000 pa, which makes the Deerma almost as powerful as the Roidmi F8: The Roidmi is a battery vacuum cleaner, so it works on a built-in battery and does not require a cable to be pulled behind it.
So, as whatever financed company of Xiaomi, Deerma brings out a vacuum cleaner. Hm, that’s nothing world-shattering, but we are used to innovation and exciting, partly novel products from the Chinese tech giant Xiaomi. So what highlights this vacuum cleaner? Why not just another solid battery vacuum cleaner like the F8?
Interestingly, the DX800S is portable, so you can operate it with one hand without overlifting the weight. Unfortunately nothing can be found on the total weight of the suction cup, the same applies to the dimensions. But let’s be honest: buckling a loop on the battery vacuum cleaner is by no means an argument to buy. Even a cable length of 5 m does not change this.
Is it the different attachments for the vacuum cleaner that make it easier to clean furniture such as the sofa and cracks? Of course, they are practical and should be included with every vacuum cleaner. But nowadays they do for almost everyone – see the Dibea models. With the DX800S it is about the same as with the Dibea teats, but one can probably assume better processing here – Xiaomi can usually be relied on.
In general, the design may appeal to you, the technical implementation is not wrong either: The floor nozzle has a diameter of 48 cm and has a rotation angle of 270°. This makes it easy to get into corners and the handling should also be good – according to the theory.
The filters are washable. Also positive: Thanks to its size, the 0.8 l dust chamber only has to be emptied manually about half as often as with most battery-powered vacuum cleaners. The operating volume of 78 dB is already known, but this should not be emphasized positively. We humans talk at a volume of 60 dB, so the sound of the Deerma should not be underestimated. Watching TV or even reading? Only for the very hardened.
Of course, there is a lot of speculation in the “information drought” that still prevails. But normally this is how it works with a new product: You only find positive aspects, the counterpoints can be found later in the test. With the Deerma DX800S I don’t find much that speaks for an optimistic prognosis on my part. Sure, there may be an App integration (for whatever reason) and yes, the suction power is high and the dust chamber rarely needs to be emptied. But otherwise? Only the price speaks for the vacuum cleaner.
For only 51€ the vacuum cleaner comes on the Chinese market, which is of course a strong price. However, the price for our areas will probably be 20-30€ higher again. Sure, you can put that on the table for a good, portable vacuum cleaner. You don’t have to in my eyes either. How do you see it?
