With the Meizu 15, the Chinese smartphone maker has made something unusual. A classic 16: 9 display with a 5.5 inch display housed in a compact rimless case. There is a strong performance, stereo speakers and a solid camera.

The Meizu 15 combines a 5.5-inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels . Thanks to the OLED technology, you get an almost infinite contrast with a black background and a crisp, intense display of colors. Especially beautiful is the almost non-existent edge on the sides of the screen . With dimensions of 14.30 x 7.20 x 0.73 cm and a weight of 152 grams, the Meizu 15 is surprisingly compact and a real flyweight. On the front there is a fingerprint sensor.

The processor uses the Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz. We know the processor already from the Mi Pad 4 and provides a strong performance with all apps . Thanks to the strong integrated Adreno 512 GPU even elaborate games like PUBG can be played smoothly on high settings . Thanks to the 4GB of memory multitasking tasks pose no problems for the processor.

On the back there is a 12.0MP + 20.0MP (aperture f/1.8) strong dual camera. The second lens is for both wide-angle shooting, as well as for a 3x optical zoom. There is also an optical image stabilization and improved quality at night. On the front there is a 20.0MP  (f/2.0) selfie camera with an AI bokeh function. The technical data of the cameras are above average and should produce successful pictures.

Other features of the smartphone include dual-band Wifi (2.4GHz and 5GHz a / b / g / n / ac), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS (Glonass, Beidou). The global version also supports LTE Band 20. On the smartphone runs the Meizu own FlymeOS 7 system (Android 7.1.2). There is also a dual sim slot. An extension via micro-SD is not possible. The battery is sufficiently large with 3000 mAh and should be sufficient for one day use. In addition, a stereo speaker is installed.

The Meizu 15 is a very interesting smartphone. Thanks to the narrow display edges, the device is very compact despite the 16: 9 format. The technical equipment with Snapdargon 660, stereo speakers and camera is cutting-edge and also satisfies users who use demanding apps and games. Thanks to the AMOLED display, you can use the smartphone to watch movies without problems and enjoy the strong black levels. We also like the overall design very well.
