The MJX Bugs 3 Pro is very similar to the MJX Bugs 5W B5W. He offers a lot of features. GPS, Return to Home, Follow Me Mode, Headless Mode and much more. There are brushless motors and a WLAN camera. Here we test the drone.
Let’s start with the greatest feature of the MJX Bugs 3 Pro, the GPS. More and more drones have a GPS module, but the 3 Pro uses it almost perfectly. In my tests, the copter flew in the position absolutely calm and the return to home function was almost exactly accurate.
The GPS has some interesting features. I have already addressed Return to Home shortly. With the help of RTH you can send the drone back to the starting point by pressing a button. If you use the MJX Bugs 3 Pro additionally with the smartphone app, you have two more functions. Once the Follow Me Mode and once the Point of Interest . If you start the Follow Me Mode, then the copter keeps track of the smartphone and does so without having to use the remote control. This too works perfectly. With the point of interest you can circle an object.
Depending on which version of the MJX Bugs 3 Pro you buy, you get a full HD or HD camera. But you can also order the drone without a camera. The camera has a microSD card slot, so the pictures and videos can be saved directly on the microSD card.
How the video quality is, you can watch in the video. The quality is OK, but you should not expect too much. If you want, you can try to install your own Action-Cam. In some cases, this will work.
You can connect to the wireless camera with the smartphone app Bugs Go, so that you can follow the live images on the display. But that’s not the only reason why the app makes sense, because some functions only work with it. This includes, for example, Follow-Me, Point of interest or the video recording.
I also like the remote control of the MJX Bug 5W. Each button is provided with a small picture. So you know immediately which function is hidden behind a button. Also, the range is neat. Up to 300 meters you can fly the copter.
On the display you will also find some interesting data. For example, you can read the number of connected GPS satellites, the altitude and the distance of the copter. You can also see the battery status of the remote control and the quadrocopter. So everything important on a small display.
For beginners, headless fashion is also available. If this is activated, one does not need to know where the head (the front) points. No matter how the copter is turned, it always flies in that direction as shown on the remote.
I really enjoyed the drone. From the camera quality you should not expect too much. For me, even the engine for the inclination was broken. Pity! But otherwise the MJX Bugs 5W B5W is a really good GPS quadcopter.
