Redmi 8A Dual debuted, which is better and still cheap Redmi 8A

Unexpectedly, the new Redmi smartphone debuted today, which is a refreshed variant of Redmi 8A. Meet the Redmi 8A Dual. In September last year, Redmi 8A went on sale – a basic class smartphone with a capacious battery (5000 mAh) supporting fast charging with a power of 18W. Now the Redmi brand has introduced to the offer Redmi 8A Dual, which is an improved variant due to the presence of two cameras on the rear panel.

The latest Redmi 8A Dual introduced to the Indian market was valued at 6499 Indian Rupees for the version with 2 GB of RAM + 32 GB of data memory. However, the more powerful and more cost-effective model (3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM) costs just little more, because its price was set at 6999 Indian Rupees.

Redmi 8A debuted in sales at the same prices last September. At the moment it is not known whether its price will be reduced or whether sales will be suspended. It is certain, however, that Redmi 8A Dual will be available in the stores Mi.com, Amazon India and Mi Home from February 18 in India. It will probably also hit the global market later. Three color versions are available: Sea Blue, Sky White and Midnight Gray.

As most of you know well, Redmi 8A is equipped with a single 12MP camera. However, in the case of Redmi 8A Dual, two lenses were chosen : the main one with a resolution of 13MP and the supporting 2MP, whose task is to achieve the effect of shallow depth of field (background blur). The camera has been enriched with several modes, including: automatic scene recognition, portrait or Google Lens.

On the front there was an 8MP camera with AI portrait mode. Due to the lack of a biometric sensor, it has one more task – to enable the user to quickly unblock it through a face scan. Rather, I don’t have to remind anyone about the poor security level of such a solution, right?

Another and also new is the back panel cardboard (Aura X Gr), which provides better grip and protects against fingerprint accumulation. In contrast, the P2i nanocoating makes Redmi 8A Dual resistant to splashes.

The rest of the specification coincides with the one you know from Redmi 8A. Therefore, the guests are equipped with a 6.22-inch display with 19: 9 aspect ratio and HD + resolution (720 x 1520 pixels).

The IPS panel is protected against damage by Gorilla Glass 5. Smooth operation of MIUI 11 based on Android 10 is to be guaranteed by Snapdragon 439 in combination with a maximum of 3GB RAM. Still the most powerful element of the equipment is a 5000 mAh battery supporting 18W fast charging and reverse charging.

Unfortunately, the sales kit includes a 10W power charger, so if you want to use the full power, you have to spend a few extra zlotys. Charging takes place via a USB type C port. And that’s basically what you need to know about the new Redmi 8A Dual. What do you think about this model? Let me know in the comments.
