Last year, Xiaomi introduced a line of smartphones running on the Android One operating system. The Mi A2 model was released exclusively in the domestic market. Today, the editor-in-chief of the portal XDA reminded that the Chinese manufacturer is working on several new devices that have successfully passed certification. Smartphones appear in the reports under the following code names – “bamboo_sprout” and “cosmos_sprout”. Presumably, it is Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite.
The reports also include the “pyxis” smartphone, which should succeed Mi 6X. Today, the editor-in-chief of XDA in his Twitter said that all three new smartphones will run on Snapdragon 7 series processors. Initially only two chipsets were considered – Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 712. However, later there were rumors that the Mi A3 could get a Snapdragon 730 processor.
The Lite version is always equipped with a weaker processor. Therefore, the Snapdragon 710 chipset seems to be the most likely option for the Mi A3 Lite smartphone. It is possible that the devices of the budget series will be presented in some markets under other names. For example, Mi A2 Lite was sold in some countries as Redmi 6 Pro.
New smartphones will work under the Android 9 Pie operating system. In the near future, the Chinese manufacturer may also launch a series of improved flagships. The first in line is Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro. Preparations for the launch of Xiaomi Mi 9X are also underway. This model will have identical specifications as the Mi A3, but with a software shell. We remind you that Mi A3 and Mi A3 Lite are models that run on pure Android OS without MIUI user interface.
Rumor has it that all three new smartphones will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the screen. The resolution of the front camera is 32 MP. The approximate release date is July 2019. The cost is still a mystery.
