As far as I can remember, BMAX can be described as an emerging Chinese brand in the last two years, with a large number of models of MINI PC and laptop products. I remember that last year we tested the BMAX X14, and today we found its upgraded version, a laptop X14 Pro with AMD Ryzen processor.
AMD Ryzen 5 3450U is a mobile SoC, released in the second quarter of 2020. It combines four Zen+ cores (8 threads) at 2.1 GHz to 3.5 GHz (-200 MHz vs. 3500U) and a Radeon RX Vega 8 integrated graphics card with 8 CU (512 stream processors) at up to 1200 MHz. The SoC is specified at 15 watts TDP for thin and light mid-range laptops.
The X14 Pro has a decent 14″ FHD screen with 100% sRGB color fidelity, which makes playing 3D games at 1080p resolution a great visual experience. Thanks to a great Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics card that makes gaming even smoother.
This new device has narrow screen bezels and a great screen-to-body ratio. Its body is made of aluminum, lightweight and tough, and the entire laptop weighs just 1.3 kg, making it great for mobile work. Excitingly, the BMAX X14 Pro also comes with 4 speakers for great sound and a great entertainment experience, which is not often seen in cheap Chinese devices.
On the storage front, the laptop has a combination of 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD, which is more than enough for everyday office and gaming use. Of course, it also retains a lot of expansion slots, so you can DIY it yourself to add some more powerful hardware configurations.
