Today, if you want a smartwatch, there are many options on the market. From the cheapest like the Amazfit Bip 2, to the most expensive like the Apple Watch 4. However, none of these terminals usually have certain unique features that some people might be interested in, such as a camera. For those cases the best thing is to see the intelligent Chinese watches, as is the case of the Kospet Optimus.
This brand is not unknown among us, and we have recommended several of their products in our list of the best Chinese smartwatches. However, the Optimus has some features that we find quite interesting and that we do not usually see in this type of equipment.
As with tablets, 4G smartwatches are more expensive. They almost always cost $50 to $100 more than the Wi-Fi version, but that’s not the case with the Kospet Optimus, which costs $129.99. You can add a nano SIM card and use it to make calls, send messages and also connect to the Internet. All this means you won’t need to carry your mobile with you.
Another aspect that we liked is that it integrates a 8.0MP camera that allows you to take photos and also record videos in HD. With just 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and Dual Dual Processor MTK6739 + NRF52840, you can’t do a lot, but there’s nothing wrong with making video calls.
As for the system, it does not come with WearOS, but two modified versions of Android 7.1.1 + Lite OS System. You will be able to install applications without any problem by Wiiwatch2, but its use is not as simple as it usually happens with the system specifically created for smartwatches.
Kospet Optimus can operate in two modes: clock and fitness tracker. Switching between them changes the dial and the information displayed on the screen. On the inside there is a heartbeat sensor that allows you to measure your heart rate. For athletes there is support for 9 types of training: walking, running, cycling, badminton, tennis, basketball and others. In each of them the gadget tracks the corresponding indicators of physical activity of the user.
The accessory is equipped with a built-in GPS module, which allows you not only to track training routes, but also to use navigation directly on your wrist without having to constantly get your smartphone. Built-in battery capacity of 800 mAh is enough for 7 days of work without recharging in the fitness tracker mode. The bezel is made of aircraft aluminum and the case is protected from water according to IP67 standard, so that you can wash your hands in it.
