The new Oukitel K13 was premiered this week at the Global Sources Electronics Exhibition in Hong Kong. The 10,000mAh battery capacity and the in-display type selfie camera are the distinctive features of this smartphone.
Technical features include a MediaTek MT6762 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB, a 6.4-inch punch screen in FHD+ format and fast 5V/6A charging. The price of Oukitel K13 and other details on the equipment will be confirmed in the coming days.
At first glance, the Oukitel K13 brings to mind rugged smartphones that can withstand more. However, there is no mention of water tightness or fall resistance in the product specification. The manufacturer has simply decided that a battery with such a high capacity would be the most suitable design.
The casing is made of rubberized material, classic plastic, as well as aluminum. The first material is located on the back wall and has a clear texture imitating leather. Under the rubber layer there is of course a traditional plastic material, which was also used to make the camera frame and fingerprint reader.
The buttons on the right side (two dedicated volume controls and a switch) are well positioned – the slack is not noticeable and the stroke is long enough. On the left wall there are sledges with a hybrid card slot, so you can place two nano SIM cards or one “Simka” and one micro SD card.
On the lower edge, the manufacturer has developed a space for a multimedia speaker, microphone, USB port type-C, and an additional grille, which makes the arrangement of components is symmetrical. The equipment lacked a 3.5mm mini-jack connector, and its task was taken over by the aforementioned USB port.
In terms of the fit of the Oukitel K13 housing components, I have no objections – nothing crackles, gaps are not visible, and visible screws make the equipment look very solid and durable.
The company has also shown the Oukitel K12 and Oukitel K9 smartphones announced in recent weeks.
